The GYROTONIC® methodology, created by Juliu Horvath, is a system of exercise emphasizing breath control, resistance, and the development of flexibility and strength. The movements were developed based on the benefits incurred from the practice tai chi, yoga, swimming, and gymnastics.
One of the main principles of the system is to free the body to move from “uncoordinated strength” resulting from the isolation of various muscle groups. The goal is to achieve a total flow of all the muscle groups combined, creating a more toned and balanced body while realizing an extended range of motion.
The sequences of exercises performed on the Professional Pulley Tower encourage circular, spiraling, and undulating motions that assist in stimulating and strengthening the spine and articulating the joints. The fluidity of the movements in a natural rhythm creates a greater awareness of one’s body in space. Synchronized with corresponding breathing patterns, the cardiovascular and nervous systems are both roused and rejuvenated.
This holistic series of mind-body conditioning performed on the
GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® generates a leaner, fitter and more toned self,
but more importantly, a greater sense of well-being.
